Plant-based products are product only made with raw materials coming from plants. Especially plant-based proteins are very valuable in the production of plant-based products. Plant-based raw material are also better for the environment because the foot print is very low compared to meat products. To give you an idea : the CO2 equivalent per 100 g of protein is more than 10 times bigger for meat than for plant-based proteins (e.g. protein from peas). That is the main reason why more and more people want to switch from animal to plant-based products (see also enclosures). To do our part in the protection of the environment Nanuk started switching from standard desserts (on the basis of animal raw materials like milk, eggs…) to plant-based once’s.

As they are only based on natural ingredients, they contain less refined and processed carbohydrates, salt, oils and added fats than other products. They are full of fibers and plant-based proteins that are good for our daily intake. Fibers and proteins provide consumers more energy and the right sense of satiety. These products are also full of complex carbohydrates which promote a faster metabolism. Using these products in our food routine will surely improve the physical abilities of our body. Consuming plant-based products on a daily basis helps reducing the number of medications patients take to treat chronic conditions. It doesn’t cure chronic diseases but it makes doctors able to prevent and control them. It also helps people lowering body weight and it decreases risk of cancer, heart diseases and Type 2 diabetes. It has also an impact on our blood sugar levels, our blood pressure and our cholesterol levels.
